At Lonsdale Medical Practice, we are always looking for ways to improve your care. To help make your appointments smoother and more focused on you, your GP or another member of our clinical team may use a tool called Heidi Health AI Scribe or Tortus during your consultation.
This leaflet explains what AI Scribe is, how it works, and how your information is kept safe.
What are AI Scribe tools?
AI Scribe tools (like Heidi Health AI or Tortus AI) are a secure, digital assistants powered by artificial intelligence (AI). It helps your clinician by creating a summary of your consultation, so they can give you their full attention without needing to spend as much time typing up notes.
- Better focus on you – Your clinician can concentrate on listening and caring for you.
- Clear, accurate records – Heidi helps create a high-quality summary of your consultation.
- More time for care – Reduces admin time, meaning more time for patients.
All notes created by the AI are carefully reviewed and approved by your clinician before being added to your medical record.
Your consent and privacy
We want you to feel informed and comfortable. Your privacy is very important to us.
- Before using AI Scribe tools, your clinician will explain how it works and ask for your verbal consent.
- You can say no at any time – and this will not affect the care you receive.
- AI Scribe only processes information shared during your appointment.
Your information is safe
- AI Scribe follows strict UK data protection laws, including GDPR.
- All data is handled securely and confidentially.
- The tool has been reviewed and approved by the Data Protection Officer for North West London ICB, on behalf of your GP Practice.
Your choice matters
If you’d prefer not to use AI Scribe, that’s absolutely fine – just let your clinician know.
You’ll still receive the same high standard of care.
