Taking your bra off at the end of the day feels great, and so does getting your breast screening sorted. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in England, and the risk increases with age.

Regular screening is crucial as it can detect cancer too small to feel or see, saving around 1,300 lives each year in the UK.

Who gets invited?

• Women registered with a GP as female, aged 50 to 71, are invited for NHS screening every 3 years.
• Your first invite will come between the ages of 50 and 53 via a letter in the post.

Finding cancer early increases the chances of successful treatment. Breast screening can detect cancer before you can feel it, or it can put your mind at ease.
