We will be running additional Saturday morning clinics throughout January for children (under 16’s) with suspected scarlet fever / flu-like symptoms. These can be booked online or via reception and are face-to-face appointments (although if you specifically want a phone consultation instead then please ask as we can also do that). This is in response to the increased numbers of scarlet fever in children this winter.
Scarlet fever is a contagious infection that mostly affects young children. It’s easily treated with antibiotics.
For most children, scarlet fever is thankfully a mild illness.
