We run a weekly, award-winning “Wellbeing Cafe session” on Wednesdays 11-1 pm, combating isolation and loneliness, and bringing people and carers together for music, singing, conversation, hot drinks, and good food. We have been awarded a Power of Music Grant and have been lucky to have regular sessions with Jessica Paton, a well-being coach, and many local musicians from the community including our own in-house lead musician and singer Oscar, musicians from the Royal Albert Hall, Jazz singer Maxine Scott and guitarist Jason Ansere, Irish and Celtic flute and pipes (Video Flute). We have had the cafe filled with the scent of locally grown flowers with Flower Friends, a host of presentations from local enthusiasts (beekeepers, birdwatchers, carers, QPAR) and performances from the local primary school and with the fantastic team at Ashford Place
Volunteers and voluntary contributions run the cafe and is one of the highlights of our week. If you are interested in volunteering, cooking, or playing an instrument/singing please get in touch! we would love to hear from you
Every Tuesday we have a knitting club running from the cafe: this runs all day as a drop-in: please come and join in, even if you have never knitted before the group is very welcoming and happy to help.
